Zach + Kim // Windom, Minnesota

If you’ve ever been to a small town in the Midwest, you know what I’m talking about. Windom is a tiny town in Southwestern Minnesota and if you blink, it’s very possible that you could miss it. But for a small town, there are a heck of a lot of awesome people. Zach is a good friend of mine from undergrad–in fact, we lived together and there are many great memories I have of him, ranging from burnt popcorn, to flannels, to apple fritters. When Zach asked me to shoot their wedding, I jumped at the chance because, as you will soon see, these are some pretty amazing people.

Actually, right now, these two are getting settled in their new home in Guadalajara, Mexico. Yes, that’s right. Only two weeks after their weddings, these two adventurers moved thousands of miles away so that Zach could begin medical school in a dual-language program, shifting between English and Spanish. Talk about intense.

Actually, Zach’s brother, and best man, gave an awesome speech at the reception, and he said two things he wanted to pass on to them (I’ve forgotten one of them, but the other one was worth the price of admission): never stop adventuring. And these are two people I think that are on that trajectory. So, while it’s disappointing that they’re going to be out of the country for the next 4 years or so, it gives Hillary and I an awesome excuse to head down to Mexico. We’re already saving up.
